Another location of which I am fond. This rock pile stands at the top of the first hill that you climb along the Quail Trail. I have thought of bringing a model here.

This trail has alternating steep and flat sections that overlook the Irvine Valley. Here my wife hikes with a view of the Irvine Spectrum Center, a local office complex and entertainment mall.

The San Joaquin Wildlife Refuge is an artificial marsh developed by the Irvine Water District so that they would not be flushing clean — and thus sterile — water into the Upper Newport Bay. I lead a hike here every month.
I did something experimental here: I used a yellow graduated filter. I think it gives the sky an interesting hue.

I am not ashamed that I do Instagram. Someone gave us a rose, so I set up this still life.
April 25, 2015. This small, historic structure is a few blocks from Mission San Juan Capistrano. It seems to be a favorite place for high school yearbook and wedding photos.
