Detail of The Orator

13 August 2015 LACMA isn’t the Louve, but it does have some stunning paintings such as “The Orator” by Magnus Zeller, a particularly vivid piece illustrating the period before Hitler’s rise to power.

Tarantula

11 August 2015 When I first posted this to flickr, I wrote: It is tarantula migration season. The tarantulas aren’t really migrating: they are males going from hole to hole looking for a mate. I saw one who was carrying some flowers, a bottle of wine and a box of candy….

Four Corners Timelapse 2

11 August 2015 I got closer for this one, choosing to focus more closely on the mountain bikers coming in and out of the area. The brush leading to this overlook was thick, but miraculously I did not tear my pants. Four Corners is a central location in Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park.
