Nectarines

13 August 2015 A visit to Farmer’s Market is always good for the food. The number of stands run by actual farmers or featuring crops has been severely reduced over the years, however.

Tarantula

11 August 2015 When I first posted this to flickr, I wrote: It is tarantula migration season. The tarantulas aren’t really migrating: they are males going from hole to hole looking for a mate. I saw one who was carrying some flowers, a bottle of wine and a box of candy….

June 25, 2015 He likes to hang out on the sidewalk below our deck. I tell the kids that he is my pet.

The flowers are a favorite of the Anna’s Hummingbird. I’ve been told that you can eat these, but they don’t taste […]

Common Fiddleneck

Date: March 15, 2015 I found this gem next to the parking lot in Limestone Canyon Wilderness Park. The flowers are blooming earlier than usual this year. In a few weeks, this patch will be brown and forgotten. I shot it with a 200mm lens.
