Tarantula

11 August 2015 When I first posted this to flickr, I wrote: It is tarantula migration season. The tarantulas aren’t really migrating: they are males going from hole to hole looking for a mate. I saw one who was carrying some flowers, a bottle of wine and a box of candy….

BMX

8 August 2015 I had not known what these strange “termite mounds” were until I led a group through the Talbert Regional Park.

Santa Ana River Marsh

8 August 2015 Note the old oil wells. Some still pump away while others stand still, waiting for their demolition.

Four Corners Timelapse 2

11 August 2015 I got closer for this one, choosing to focus more closely on the mountain bikers coming in and out of the area. The brush leading to this overlook was thick, but miraculously I did not tear my pants. Four Corners is a central location in Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park.
